How much will a translation cost?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer this question across-the-board as the price for a translation may be affected by many different factors.
However, I do want to give you a general overview of the rates, but please remember to consider them only as approximate values.
To obtain a more detailed quote, please do not hesitate to contact me by E-mail or by filling out the contact form and attach the text to be translated completely or, in case of very long texts, partially.
Factors which may affect the price
Work at weekends
The price for a translation from Spanish, Portuguese or English into German is calculated per word counted in the source text.
Basic rate per word: € 0.15 per word
Minimum charge: € 35.00
The basic rate may increase due to the factors listed above.
Editing and proofreading are charged at an hourly rate.
Hourly rate: € 40.00 per hour
Minimum charge: € 25.00
Both editing and proofreading will only be carried out in my mother tongue German.
Simple proofreading exclusively focusses on spelling, punctuation, typos and grammatical errors.
Editing additionally includes the verification of writing style, consistency, logic and coherence of the content. In the case of a translation, your text is also compared accurately against the source text. Since this involves significantly more effort than only proofreading a text, I need more time accordingly.
